Editorial Methodology · Framework v1.0 · Effective June 2026
Our 8-dimension, evidence-based scoring framework — built specifically for Malaysian players. Every casino we assess is measured against the same published criteria, with documented evidence behind every score.

Our Editorial Standards
Every casino featured on me88.ai is assessed using the same documented framework — Casino Review Scoring Framework v1.0 — so ratings can be compared fairly across platforms. This page explains exactly how we test, score and re-audit each operator. We publish our criteria, weighting and evidence requirements in full so any reader can verify how a rating was reached.
Who Reviews These Casinos
Our reviews are produced by our editorial team and signed off by Anthony Tang, who leads casino evaluations for the Malaysian market. Each published review carries a named reviewer and a “Last audited” date so you can see who stands behind the assessment and how current it is.
We’re Operated by me88 — And We Say So
me88.ai is owned and operated by me88 Malaysia — as stated in our Framework v1.0, Section 2.1. We are transparent about this because it matters: we have a commercial interest in players choosing me88. To keep our reviews credible, we apply three safeguards:
- One ruleset for everyone. me88 is scored on the same 8 dimensions, weights and rubric anchors as every competitor we review. Competitor platforms may receive higher scores than me88 in any dimension where the evidence supports it.
- Published criteria. Because the scoring formula is fixed and public (see below), a favourable score for any platform — including our own — has to be earned against the same rubric anchors.
- Visible disclosure. Our ownership, how we earn revenue, and all commercial relationships are disclosed on every page via the mandatory Operator Disclosure block.

Each platform is evaluated across 8 dimensions. Weights are fixed and reflect Malaysian player priorities. Scores are assigned in 0.5 increments only (1.0, 1.5 … 5.0). Quarter-points are not permitted.
| ID | Dimension | Weight | Primary Signal |
|---|---|---|---|
| D1 | Licensing & Regulatory Compliance | 15% | Player protection (licence verifiability) |
| D2 | Bonus Fairness & Wagering Terms | 15% | Bonus value (turnover fairness) |
| D3 | Payment Methods & Withdrawal Speed ★ | 20% | Transaction speed & MY payment coverage |
| D4 | Game Library & Software Quality | 15% | Provider credibility & game depth |
| D5 | Mobile Experience & Accessibility | 10% | Mobile-first access & language support |
| D6 | Security & Platform Transparency | 10% | HTTPS / SSL / operator transparency |
| D7 | Customer Support Quality | 10% | Live chat responsiveness (real-tested) |
| D8 | Responsible Gambling Compliance | 5% | Self-exclusion & deposit limit tools |
★ D3 carries the highest weight because withdrawal speed and local payment support are the primary decision factors for Malaysian players. D8’s lowest weight reflects audience behaviour — not lower ethical importance.
Overall Score Labels & Recommendations
After the weighted score is calculated, the platform receives one of five labels. These labels govern the recommendation language used throughout the review.
| ⭐ | 4.5 – 5.0 | Exceptional | Top Pick for Malaysian Players |
| ✅ | 4.0 – 4.4 | Recommended | Solid Choice |
| ⚠️ | 3.0 – 3.9 | Average | Proceed with Awareness |
| ❌ | 2.0 – 2.9 | Below Standard | Not Recommended |
| 🚫 | < 2.0 | Avoid | Serious Concerns Identified |
⚠️
This platform does not meet responsible gambling standards. We do not recommend it to players who may be at risk.
This callout must appear in the review body regardless of the platform’s overall score. All platforms must score ≥ 2.0 on D8 to be listed on me88.ai.
How We Calculate the Final Score
The Weighted Formula
+ (D5 × 0.10) + (D6 × 0.10) + (D7 × 0.10) + (D8 × 0.05)
N/A Dimension Handling
When a dimension cannot be independently audited, it is recorded as N/A — never estimated or inferred from third-party claims alone. N/A dimensions are removed from the formula, and the remaining weights are proportionally renormalized so that they still sum to 100%.
Score Increment & Rounding Rules
(1.0, 1.5 … 5.0 only)
Malaysian Market Benchmarks
All scoring anchors are calibrated to the Malaysian iGaming market. These benchmarks determine rubric anchor placement for D2, D3, and D4.
Dimension-by-Dimension Testing Protocol
Every dimension requires a specific type of evidence before a score can be assigned. Scores that lack required evidence are not publishable. Where testing is impossible, the dimension is recorded as N/A with a documented reason.
Evidence Standards
Every score requires a corresponding evidence record. A score without evidence is not publishable. All evidence is classified into three tiers:
| Tier | Label | Definition | Scoring Rule |
|---|---|---|---|
| T1 | First-Hand | Directly obtained via real-device testing, screenshot, or raw T&C extraction | Directly scores the dimension |
| T2 | Platform-Stated | Claimed by the platform on its own site or marketing materials | Noted in writing but does not score positively; may score negatively if contradicted by T1 |
| T3 | Third-Party Research | Sourced from independent review sites, regulator databases, or news sources | Regulatory evidence (e.g. MGA blacklisting) = T1-equivalent for D1 and D6. Otherwise secondary only. |
Pre-Publication Checklist
Run before every review is submitted for publication. All items must be checked. This checklist maps directly to Framework v1.0 Section 8.
Evidence & Testing
- D1 — Licence badge screenshot captured + verification URL recorded (issuing authority’s public registry)
- D2 — Bonus T&C screenshot or HTML with turnover requirement visible + audit date
- D3 — Deposit → withdrawal cycle tested with timestamps. If N/A, reason documented.
- D4 — Game lobby screenshot showing provider filter/labels

Update & Re-Audit Policy
Independence & Commercial Disclosure
me88.ai earns revenue through player referrals to platforms on this site, including me88 which we operate. These commercial relationships are disclosed on every page. They do not change the dimension weights, rubric anchors, or final score — Framework v1.0 is applied identically to every casino, ours included.
Most casino “review” sites present themselves as neutral, independent third parties while being quietly funded by affiliate commissions they don’t disclose. We take the opposite approach: we tell you upfront exactly where we stand and how we make money. We think that’s a fairer deal than being lied to about independence.
Disagree With a Rating?
If you believe a rating is out of date or inaccurate, or you have first-hand evidence — such as a withdrawal dispute, a verified licence change, or a documented support failure — tell us through our Trust & Feedback Center. Substantiated reports trigger a re-audit and, where warranted, a visible score change on the affected review.
